Peerset technology is based on several proprietary patented and patent-pending technologies
Peerset’s platform is composed of several cooperative systems. Our most recently awarded patent describes the system core to our platform, the Peerset Expander - a technology that learns how human interests and characteristics are related and is able to predict relationships based on input. The second system, for which a patent is pending, is responsible for drawing matches between input (e.g., a user’s profile) and content (e.g., an ad). Our third major system is responsible for analysis, optimization and reporting and is key to our ability to run unique insights reports pre, mid and post campaign.
Peerset Expander (patented)
At the heart of the Peerset platform is our expansion engine. Central to its success is the training system that gathers and processes anonymous and aggregate (i.e., non-tracked) user interest and characteristic data and imbues the Peerset Expander with the relationships necessary to provide actionable understanding of consumer behavior and psycho-demographics. Peerset Expander is data agnostic - the data used in training will determine the audience described and understood by the system. It can be trained to understand consumers of a broad set of demographics or very specific all based on what data is provided. For our current products and services, our system is focused on the English speaking North American market. Our largest data source is the social web where people self-declare interests and tastes.

Peerset Matching Engine (patent-pending)
The system that sits on the operational front-lines of our products and services is our matching engine. This system is responsible for finding strong matches between consumers and content – typically ads and audience segments. We are able to deliver Peerset Audiences and Advertising through publisher integration with our system providing targetable consumer data (e.g., age, gender, interests, groups, likes, pages viewed, etc.).
Using the Peerset Expander, the matching engine will place both the consumer’s and content’s profiles into a vector space describing their relationships. From these vectors a match score can be calculated and, if meeting a predetermined threshold, a match will be made.
Through a simple integration with our partners’ and customers’ advertising platforms, we are able to deliver these matches as custom audience segments. Or, through an API integration with our system, we can use these matches as part of simple or elaborate recommendation interfaces.
Peerset Analytics
Rounding out the Peerset Platform and drawing from Peerset Expander and the matching systems, our reporting system provides the tools necessary to garner deep insights into consumer audiences for advertisers, retailers and publishers. For instance, analytical reports are generated before, during and after advertising campaigns and play a significant role in campaign targeting and optimization.
